When you use
our internet music lessons service, your music instructor's webcam
and microphone will capture and transmit
live video and audio through our service
straight to your computer.
You will be able to watch and hear exactly
what he or she is doing. Our service is
100% live! When using our internet music lessons service,
you will need to have a webcam, headphones, and
microphone as well. Many webcams come with
a microphone already built into them. You can also choose
to use a headset which includes a microphone and headphones. Headsets
are very affordable and can be purchased for around
$30.00. The headphones keep your microphone from picking up your instructor through
your computer speakers which can cause unwanted noise.
The Logitech line of webcams are very affordable
and are simple to install. You can purchase
a webcam with a microphone included for
as little as $40.00. By both you and your instructor having webcams,
you will experience completely interactive internet music lessons.
Your instructor needs to be able to view
your technique and hear what you are playing
in order to make any corrections to what
they are teaching. We also recommend that
you have an always on, high speed internet
connection such as DSL or Cable.
This will provide you with uninterrupted,
high quality internet guitar, bass, vocal, violin lessons and more! With Music
Virtuosity, you will be able to
experience completely live and interactive
webcam music lessons over the internet and
get access to music instructors that would
never have been possible before.
Troubleshooting/Getting Set Up:
Once you have your webcam installed and your headphones/headset connected, here are some tips to make
sure you are up and running.
1. Right click (for pc) or CTRL + click (for mac) on our logo in the upper left hand corner of the page.
This portion of of our site utilizes flash and allows you to access your flash settings.
2. Choose "Settings" from the menu.
3. Click on the microphone icon. Here you can use the drop down menu to make sure you are set to use
the microphone you have installed. You can also adjust your volume here as well. If you are using your
webcams internal mic, then select your webcam from the drop down menu. If you are plugging a mic (like
in a headset) directly into your computers sound card, then choose your soundcard from the drop down menu.
4. Click on the webcam icon next. Now choose your webcam from the drop down menu.
Performing these steps should ensure that you are sending both audio and video to your instructor during your
live internet music lessons. You can also access these setting during your live webcam music lessons. Simply right click (for pc) or
CTRL + click (for mac) on your webcam window and choose "Settings" from the menu that pops up. These are the very same "Settings" you
accessed above, you have just accessed them from another area of the site. You can
now adjust volume or make any necessary changes to your setup. |
